James Blake is back with an hour-long sleep soundscape, “Wind Down.”
The track was made for adaptive sound wellness app Endel AI, which makes “personalized soundscapes to help you focus, relax, and sleep,” the website explains. It’s all about helping users “move gently towards a good night’s rest.” If you’re looking to wind down, grab your blanket and tune into Blake’s stunning new track. The dreamy tune revolves around echoing, reverberating vocals, atmospheric synths, and sparse, thoughtful keys.
“‘Wind Down’ lets me explore the more ambient side of my music and create a project to support people in a new way,” Blake explains of the track. “It’s mesmerizing to hear how my music blends with the science-based sounds of Endel’s AI and I think we’ve invented something not just beautiful or even meaningful, but truly practical.”
