WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY WITH DECCA U.S. AND WFMH

Decca Records U.S. and the World Federation for Mental Health have partnered for World Mental Health Day.

Said WFMH President Nasser Loza, “We are celebrating 75 years of mental-health advocacy with our 2023 World Mental Health Day theme 'Mental Health Is a Universal Human Right.’ Decca Records U.S. has been at the forefront of our supporters, and we are glad to be working with these talented musicians to amplify mental-health awareness.”

The initiative includes the release of a themed playlist featuring WMHD artist ambassadors Chad Lawson, Cody Fry, Kings Elliot, Lara Somogyi, Sophie Hutchings, Samuel Mariño, Balmorhea and Daigo Hanada.

Balmorhea and Hanada also released Amazon Original tracks for WMHD.

For his part, Lawson likewise collaborated with Endel—purveyor of neuroscience-backed personalized soundscapes that help you focus, relax and sleep—to create an album reimagining tracks from his 2022 set, breathe, and released a WMHD-themed episode of his podcast, Calm It Down, featuring an interview with WFMH Secretary General Gabriel Ivbijaro MBE JP. Lawson will appear today (10/11) on an episode of The Travis Mills Show on Apple Music 1 to discuss music and mental health.

“World Mental Health Day feels to me like that moment in a concert just before I lift my hands off the keys and the room is filled with a collective breath,” Lawson said. “That pause adds meaning to the music, just like today adds meaning to our focus on what really matters inside us.”
